Diving in the Galapagos Islands is one of the greatest privileges you can have when you come here. Descending into the depths and encountering endangered sharks, innumerable turtles, birds and marine iguanas, large cetaceans and sea lions that play with you, in waters produced by 4 ocean currents, will make you a totally different person when you go up to the surface.

Discover the depths of one of the richest Marine Reserves in the world. You will find species that have evolved and adapted to survive in this unusual paradise.

You will live closely the feeling of being immersed in the marine world, enjoying the beauty and fragility of the ocean.

Going and coming from the trip:
You must arrive at the Baltra Airport located on Seymour Island, which is close to Santa Cruz, preferably before 12:00 pm Galapagos time on day 1 of this trip. Upon arrival at the airport, a person will greet you at the passenger exit and take you by taxi to the Gemelos volcano crater and then visit Rancho Chato where you will have lunch. After that, the passenger will be taken to the hotel for check-in. You can visit the beach of Tortuga Bay or Las Grietas, this is optional.
From the last day of diving, the passenger will have to be at least 72 hours on land to take an air flight, the costs of lodging and food for these days are not included in the tour package.

Start of the trip: This trip begins with your arrival at Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos, Ecuador, on day 1.
End of the trip: This trip ends with your departure from Galapagos, 2 to 3 days after the last dive.

  1. Day 1 Arrival at Baltra Airport, Gemelos Crater, Rancho Chato

    AM: Arrival at the Baltra Airport – Santa Cruz, transfer to Gemelos, a short walk around the crater will take place, after that the Rancho Chato will be visited, giant tortoises, lava channels will be observed and lunch will be served at the ranch.

    PM: The passenger will be transferred to the hotel in Puerto Ayora for registration. It is suggested to visit the Tortuga Bay beach, Las Grietas or the Charles Darwin Research Station.

  2. Day 2 Seymour and daphne Islets

    Depth: 18 to 20m

    AM/PM:
    SEYMOUR ISLET
    The passenger will be picked up from his hotel and taken to the Itabaca canal along with other tourists. Then you will sail for around 20 to 30 minutes until you reach the island, which has two dive sites: El Canal and La Punta. The current in these places is normal – strong, with a depth between 10 to 25 m, the immersion time will be 50 to 60 minutes. The fauna presented will be: Galapagos sharks, hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, bull sharks, manta rays, reef fish; In addition, you can see seabirds such as blue-footed boobies, lava gulls, swallow-tailed gulls, frigatebirds, among others.

    DAPHNE ISLET
    It is located 30 minutes from the Itabaca channel, the currents are moderate, the dive sites are: Daphne Mayor, Daphne Menor and Bajo de Daphne, the immersion time is 40 to 60 minutes. You will be able to observe a cave with whitetip reef sharks, blacktip reef sharks; plus Galapagos sharks, turtles, reef fish, sea cucumbers, manta rays, sea lions and tiger sharks.

  3. Day 3 Rock Gordon

    Depth: 18 to 20m

    AM/PM:

    Rock Gordon

    This eroded crater is located near the coast of Santa Cruz Island, 45min – 1 hour by boat; the experience required to dive at this site is a minimum of 20 dives, the current is medium – strong, the depth is from 12 to 30 m, the dive time is from 50 to 60 minutes. It is an ideal place to see hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, black tip sharks, mobula rays, eagle rays, sea lions among others.

  4. Day 4 Laguna el Junco, La Galapaguera and Puerto Chino Beach + surfing

    AM: The passenger will be picked up from his hotel and will be taken to the dock for boarding the Ferry to San Cristóbal, the navigation lasts about 2 hours. Upon arrival a person will meet you at the pier and take you to your hotel for registration.

    PM: The passenger will visit the upper part of San Cristóbal Island in a taxi tour. The first place will be Laguna El Junco, you will take a 30 to 45 minute walk following a path and when you reach the top, you will be able to observe the freshwater lagoon and the different types of birds that go there. The second site is the David Rodriguez Tortoise Breeding Center, where you will take a 20-minute walk observing tortoises in their natural state and others that are protected until they reach maturity. The third point is the visit to Puerto Chino beach, which has white sand, you can also see sea lions, iguanas, blue-footed boobies and sea turtles in its turquoise waters.

  5. Day 5 León Dormido, Playa Cerro Brujo

    Depth: 15 to 20m

    AM/PM

    The passenger will be taken to the pier to board with other tourists and will sail for around 45 to 50 minutes. During the navigation you have the possibility of seeing whales, killer whales, dolphins among others. You will arrive at a formation of volcanic ash known as León Dormido, being in the boat the guide will explain in detail the activity to be carried out and the duration of each one, after that each person will get ready to enter the water. They will make 2 dives of 45 minutes each with an interval of one hour between them. After that, they will have lunch on board the boat and then they will visit a white sand beach where they can rest and relax.

  6. Day 6 Hittler's Caves

    Depth: 20 to 35m

    AM/PM:

    Hittler’s Caves
    They are volcanic formations that are located 15 minutes by boat from the port, the current is medium – strong, the depth is up to 35m, the experience required to carry out the activity is a minimum of 30 dives or have the Advanced certification, the visibility is 10m. There are 2 caves in which diving is carried out, the first has a ”U” shape which is narrow and only one person enters, the second cave is close to the other and the divers enter vertically; the dive lasts about 35 minutes. On the tour you will be able to observe coral formations, prickly pears, sea lions, sea turtles, different types of fish, starfish, udibranchs, among others.

    The second dive will take place in a place that the passenger chooses between: Darwin Wall and Caragua. The depth of the sites is up to 30m and the dive lasts 45 minutes.

The hotels are comfortable and charming, superior tourist class. They are well located in the city, but they are not always on the beach or in front of the sea. Premium Hotels are first-class luxury boutique hotels. They are located right on the beach or facing the sea. All hotels are locally owned and operated.

To participate in this tour, you must be on Santa Cruz Island.
The itinerary may change due to Galapagos National Park regulations or weather conditions.
Please note that in order to protect the environment of the Galapagos Islands, the Government of Ecuador has prohibited the use of plastic bags and polyethylene containers in the Archipelago. Visitors to the islands are not allowed to bring these items with them. This measure is effective as of May 2018.

NOTE FOR FLIGHTS TO GALAPAGOS: Please make sure you book a flight in advance, and take into account the airport codes (San Cristóbal – SCY) (Santa Cruz – Baltra). We suggest that the arrival time be before 12:00 pm to follow the order of the itinerary shown. However, if you need to book a late flight (later than 12:30am), please let us know as soon as possible (preferably at the time of tour booking). We will have to modify the order of the activities in the itinerary.

NOTE: Itinerary subject to change without prior notice due to seasonal changes, last minute weather conditions and adjustments to the Galapagos National Park Policies or Travelers’ flight schedule; in these cases no refunds will be applied.
