All about the 8 day Galápagos Island Hopping Tour adventure Expedition.

Feel like a little explorer by being immersed in the fauna, vegetation and unusual life of the most exotic species that live on these volcanic islands.

Meet the largest colony of sea lions in San Cristóbal, immerse yourself in the depths of León Dormido and swim with sharks, rays, turtles and dolphins.

Land at one of Latin America’s eco-friendly airports, see land iguanas, finches, and giant tortoises in Santa Cruz. Go through the cracks and enjoy the sunsets of Tortuga Bay.

Surround yourself with the wild nature of Isabela, photographing flamingos, penguins and active volcanoes from inside their craters. Walk through the streets of sand, navigate between lava tunnels, dream of starry skies and savor the sweetest fruits of the season.

Rewrite the history of one of the islands with the oldest post barrel in Ecuador. Lie on its black sand beach, climb the many mountains, discover the ancient settlements of the first settlers, pirates and whalers. Drink from Floreana’s only freshwater spring and admire its splendor from Post Office Bay.

Land on one of the oldest islands in the entire archipelago, discover the albatross nesting site, walk among the most colorful cliffs full of Nazca boobies. Admire red marine iguanas and its cold turquoise waters.

Going and coming from the trip:

You must arrive at the Baltra Airport located on Seymour Island, which is close to Santa Cruz, preferably before 11:00 pm Galapagos time on day 1 of this trip. Upon arrival at the airport, a person will greet you at the passenger exit and take you by taxi to the Gemelos volcano crater and then visit Rancho Chato where you will have lunch. The visit to Garrapatero beach is optional. After that, the passenger will be taken to the pier for boarding the ferry bound for Isabela.
There are no planned activities on day 9 (the last day), the transfer from the hotel to the San Cristóbal airport will be made at the time indicated by the passenger.

Start of the trip: This trip begins with your arrival at Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos, Ecuador, on day 1.
End of the trip: This trip ends with your departure from Galapagos, on day 9.

  1. Day 1 Arrival Baltra, Transfer to Gemelos, Rancho Chato and Garrapatero.

    AM: Arrival Baltra Airport – Santa Cruz, transfer to Gemelos, there will be a short walk around the crater, after that the Rancho Chato will be visited, giant tortoises will be observed, lava channels and lunch will be had at the ranch, then you can visit El Garrapatero beach which is optional and will depend on weather management.

    PM: The passenger will be transferred to the Puerto Ayora pier for boarding the ferry bound for Isabela. Upon arrival a person will meet you at the pier and take you to the hotel.

  2. Day 2 Tunnels (navigation, snorkeling and walking)

    AM: The passenger will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the pier for boarding with other passengers going to the same place. You will sail around 45 minutes, then you will arrive at the first place where you will do the first snorkeling activity in which you will observe giant sea turtles, rays, white tip reef sharks, numerous colorful fish; then you will sail for 10 more minutes and arrive at another place where you will see penguins, seahorses and more types of fish, finally you will walk on the lava formations called tunnels and you will have your lunch on board,

    PM: In the afternoon a quite fun activity will be carried out, a bicycle will be ridden to a place called the Wall of Tears, the distance is approximately 6km, it is a mountain biking, on the route there are various entrances to different beaches, you will observe land turtles, marine iguanas, various types of birds, also in the wetlands you can find flamingos and at the end you will find the formation of stones that gives the site its name.

  3. Day 3 Hike to Sierra Negra Volcano and Chico Volcano

    AM: Passengers will be picked up from the hotel and taken along with other passengers to the upper part of the island, they will arrive at a place called Refugio del Cura, where the guide will explain the activities that are going to be carried out and the history of the volcanoes of the island. They will take a walk of around 3 hours, in which they will closely observe the crater of the Sierra Negra Volcano, walk around the crater and reach a second viewpoint from which they will follow a path with a different direction and explore the lava formations of explosions that occurred years ago they are now known as Volcán Chico.

    PM: In the afternoon there will be a water activity, the passenger will be picked up from their hotel and taken to the pier to board the boat with other tourists, they will sail around the bay for about 20 minutes and then disembark on the Tintoreras islet, there they will a walk around it, observing a channel with white tip sharks known as blue sharks, as well as iguanas, sea turtles, rays, sea lions. After that, they will embark again and snorkel around the islet where they can swim with sharks, rays, turtles and more.

  4. Day 4 Tortuga Bay, Las Grietas and Charles Darwin Research Station

  5. Day 5 Ferry to Floreana

    AM/PM: The passenger is picked up from the hotel and taken to the pier for boarding, along with other passengers, they will sail for 2 hours to Floreana Island, they will have their breakfast on board, upon arrival at the island the guide will explain in detail the activities that are going to be carried out and the specific sites visited. In the upper part of the island they will walk along the ancient paths of the first settlers, they will observe giant turtles, labyrinths, a face carved in stone, an old pirate cave, a vast and extensive vegetation with multiple mountains around it, they will know the source island freshwater. You will enjoy the black beach and snorkel in the bay where you can see penguins. They will have their lunch on board and after that they will return to Santa Cruz.

  6. Day 6 Kayak + snorkeling (Darwin Bay, Baquerizo Beach)

    AM: The passenger will be picked up and taken to the dock for boarding the Ferry to San Cristóbal, the navigation will last 2 hours. Upon arrival a person will meet you at the pier and take you to the hotel.

    PM: In the afternoon there will be a very fun activity. You will kayak from Mann Beach to Baquerizo Beach. The tour lasts about 2 hours, snorkeling will take place at Baquerizo beach where you can see sea turtles, sea lions, frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, among others.

  7. Day 7 Tour 360 or Leon Dormido Tour (snorkeling or diving)

    AM/PM: This day the passenger can choose between taking a tour around the entire island called 360, which includes the visit to 6 sites and 3 snorkeling activities, the duration is around 8 hours and includes snack, snorkeling equipment, wetsuits and certified guide. The other option is the tour to León Dormido which lasts 6 hours; a navigation of 45 minutes to an hour is made around the rock of León Dormido and then a white sand beach is visited where you can rest and relax. If the passenger has the OPEN WATER diving certification, this will be the ideal place to do it.

  8. Day 8 Ferry to Espanola

    AM/PM: This day the passenger will take a tour to Española Island. You will sail around 2 hours and 30, you will have your breakfast on board, the guide will give all the necessary indications about the activities to be carried out. Upon arrival at the island, the snorkeling activity around the bay, where you can see sea turtles, fish of many colors. After that, you will sail for 20 minutes and disembark at Punta Suárez, where you will go on a walk in which you will see red marine iguanas, sea lions, cliffs with colonies of Nazca boobies, albatrosses, blue-footed boobies and a sparrowhawk. galapagos You will enjoy the best landscapes with colorful cliffs bathed in the blue waters of the ocean.

  9. Day 9 Departure from San Cristobal Airport

    AM: This day there are no planned activities. At the time indicated by the passenger, he will be taken to the San Cristóbal Airport.

NOTE FOR FLIGHTS TO GALAPAGOS: Please make sure you book a flight in advance, and take into account the airport codes (San Cristóbal – SCY) (Santa Cruz – Baltra). We suggest that the arrival time be before 11:00 pm to follow the order of the itinerary shown. However, if you need to book a late flight (later than 11:30am), please let us know as soon as possible (preferably at the time of tour booking). We will have to modify the order of the activities in the itinerary.
